The VelaShape Generation 1 was designed by Syneron as a non-invasive alternative treatment to reduce the appearance of cellulite and for temporary reduction of thigh circumference. The Generation 1 system became one of Syneron’s best-selling cellulite treatment devices because it is very user-friendly, safe and effective.
Technological Components
VelaShape uses Syneron’s patented elōs technology which stands for electro optical synergy, combined with mechanical manipulation of the skin via vacuum suction. Elōs technology utilizes infrared (IR) optical energy and bipolar radio frequency (RF) currents. Mechanical manipulation is achieved through vacuum technology with or without the inclusion of massage rollers.
Combined, these technologies provide dermal and sub-dermal heating along with mechanical manipulation that improves overall blood circulation, increasing the metabolic rate of connective fat tissue and promoting better lymphatic drainage.
The VelaShape I system has four (4) core components:
The Console – main unit.
VSmooth Applicator – used for large treatment areas such as the buttocks, abdomen and thighs.
VContour Applicator – used for smaller curved treatment areas such as the lower abdomen the flanks.
Dual Connector – allows both applicators to remain attached at the same time (not possible with Syneron’s predecessor, VelaSmooth). However you can only use one applicator at a time.
Controls: Both the VSmooth and VContour applicators have their own operator panels. These panels allow the treatment provider to manually select the type of energy (RF current or IR energy) and mechanical manipulation parameters.
VelaShape Generation 1 Results
Treatment with the VelaShape I will definitely result in the overall improvement of the appearance of cellulite. Complete elimination is not guaranteed. Circumference reduction of the thighs is also achieved; however results will vary by patient. Some patients will require more treatments than others. Also results will be temporary and will need to be maintained over time. Patients who pursue healthy eating habits and manage weight gain may see better results.
